We’re proud to share that Away End has been featured in Forbes in an article exploring why so many away fans across England avoid the train for Tuesday night games.
Written by football writer Steve Price, the piece— 🔗 "Why Away Fans In England Don’t Take The Train For Tuesday Night Games"—dives into the real-world logistics of away travel, spotlighting how Away End is helping supporters navigate the challenge.
The article highlights the data and stories we’ve been gathering from fans across the country—stories of long walks from out-of-town stations, early last trains, empty timetables, and the choices supporters are forced to make. As Price puts it:
“While fans in Germany or Japan may have a wide array of train services to choose from, many English fans heading home after a midweek game face a stark choice—drive, leave early, or stay overnight.”
At Away End, we’ve been working to document and improve this experience. Whether it’s our guide pages packed with supporter-recommended pubs, our efforts to surface reliable transport tips, or our upcoming travel planner features, our aim remains the same: make away days easier, better, and more connected.
We’re grateful to Forbes for helping bring attention to the everyday realities of football supporters. And we’re even more grateful to the fans whose stories, data, and feedback have powered everything we’ve built so far.
More coming soon. In the meantime, read the full article here:
